Owner Steve Hauke's pharmacy experience spans 25 years, with 12 years dedicated exclusively to veterinary medicine.

Steve earned his Bachelor of Science degree in zoology and chemistry with the goal of becoming a veterinarian. He then graduated from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy, completed specialized training for compounding, and became certified by the National Board of Nutrition Support.

From this base of human pharmacology, he began to specialize in veterinary medicine.

Steve started PetScripts in 2000 after recognizing that veterinarians and pet owners often face difficult challenges with medicating animals, and there were no pharmacies devoted to helping them solve those problems. He and his staff have now helped thousands of veterinarians, pet owners, and pets to find better, more comfortable, more effective treatments.

Steve has brought together a talented group of professionals that includes pharmacists with many years of combined experience in veterinary pharmacy, lab technicians trained specifically for veterinary compounding and led by a technician with an advanced certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). You'll find our customer service staff to be friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and especially understanding of veterinarians' and pet owners' needs.
